It's two days before Corned Beef Day (I don't know if I have any Irish blood, but I definately love corned beef). And I don't care who wins the basketball tourney, so all I have is corned beef.
March Madness seems to have slowed down the interest in The Book Reviewers Club, which is understandable. Then again, I have not posted much on this blog in the past two days.
For those who wonder, there are many ways to get exposure. I have been using some of the ways, but not all of them. Let's examine what I am using.
The #1 way to get exposure is Twitter and Facebook. I have been Tweeting, but I don't post on Facebook much. Everyone I am connected with on Facebook is mostly my family. And, yes, I need to increase the activity of my Facebook submissions.
The #2 way to get exposure is through websites such as LinkedIn. Join every site on LinkedIn that interests you. I am on more than 15.
One thing to remember is that the people that you are the most comfortable with might not be the ones reading or buying your books. For example, if I was writing about cars, my comfort zone would be Chrysler products. I really doubt that someone looking for something about Fords would come rushing to my material.
So, look for people in your network who would be interested in your material. I don't write Science Fiction, so someone looking for A Stranger in a Strange Land coming out of my pen would not find it.

Some musings on a Monday afternoon......
I just loaded some new member information onto The Book Reviewers Club website. What does that mean? That anyone who is a member of The Book Reviewers Club has a better chance of having one of their books read. As I have said, a rising tide raises all ships.
The more people who join The Book Reviewers Club, the better the odds are that you will have a book read and reviewed. Why? It's a matter of interest.
I write from experience, as do most authors. My experience includes the Internet; I have focused some of my heroes on things to do with the Internet. But that causes a problem. I have asked family members if they would review one of my books; in most cases, they have said that they liked what they read, but there was a lot they could not understand.
It's a matter of interest. They just aren't interested in learning how one of my heroes was able to track the kidnappers of the President's wife and daughters using the Internet. (The Pendergast Solution). Which brings us to the numbers. How many members of The Book Reviewers Club are interested in adventure novels? And how many of those people like adventure novels about the Internet? It is all numbers, specifially, the numbers of people who are interested in what you have written.
So, I am thrilled that The Book Reviewers Club is growing. And I am thrilled that the number of followers of The Book Reviewers Club on Twitter is growing. A rising tide raises all ships.

Liane Moonraven has fantasized about King Arthur and the magnificent Knights of the Round Table since she was a small girl and has written fiction for almost as long as she could hold a pen.

The Dakota Connection, a Ryce Dalton novel by R. Clint Peters
Foreword
The initial news report was that four unknowns and two
locals had been killed in a gun battle in a pizzeria in North Dakota
Then
the news leaked out that it was a professional assassination, carried out by a
terrorist group. One news outlet
reported that seventeen terrorists had been killed in the battle.
Finally,
the state authorities announced that the investigation was on going, and they
would have nothing more to say.
That did not stop the speculation.

I have just finished reading The Evidence for the Sixth Sense, Divine Intervention 2, by Hazel Courtney. I think I now can identify with her term 'Spiritual Emergency' as I know I had experienced this and that was the core that had led me to write Losing Ground, my first memoir. I know Syncronicity is a big term being used now, but I can say it has deep meaning for me along with one's Spiritual Journey.
Once the madness is over, one is now led to a place they are supposed to be or a Reinvention of one's self. It leads you sometimes to take a different path. I do believe I am the product of both as I am now on a new path, one that is destined and timed just right.
I am writing for Junior Readers, as being a Reading Specialist for some 20 years has given me so much insight on what children love to read. I have also been reminiscent for Arizona, my home of some 22 years. With all that, Mysteries of the Red Coyote Inn seems to have all the right timing and is set in Arizona. It is due to be on A new Blog for The Book Reviewers Club

Musings on a Sunday morning
It's Sunday, and almost everyone in the US has moved their clocks ahead by an hour. Here in Arizona, we don't need to save daylight (we'd be happy to give the rest of the country some of our daylight), and don't change our clocks.
While I waited for my clock not to change, I checked some of the postings on some of the groups I have joined, such as LinkedIn. One of the postings hit a nerve. And answered a lot of questions. The question was Who are we associating with? And how will they be able to help increase exposure?
The people that we associate with are usually the ones who most closely reflect who we are. I am an author, so I associate with authors. Every group that I have joined on LinkedIn has something to do with authors.
Now, as an illustration, let's say I was writing about repairing cars. I could join a car repair group, but how would that help me get to the people who need what I have written. They are not car repair experts; they are people who need help in repairing a car. But they are not likely part of the "Car Repair Authors Discussion Group".
So, hanging out with authors might give me an insite into what not to do, but the number one thing an author needs is to have his/her book reviewed, so they can discover what they are doing right, and perhaps convince someone to shell out the pennies.
My new focus is to become a member of a readers group. I can read as well as the next person. And if someone is looking for something to read, maybe they will select something I have written.

A Post From the Book Reviewers Club

Revenge for injustices perpetrated upon us is a tightly interwoven thread of the human condition. Responding to immoral acts in a violent manner has been a part of society since the beginning of time. The only thing that has changed over the centuries is the means by which an avenger might seek to accomplish their redemptive plans.
Accountable to None was written as an homage to Dumas' masterpiece. Set in modern dayPhoenix , Arizona
I wanted to take the entire revenge motif to the next level in the sequels, Zero Balance and Adjusting Journal Entry. Sometimes, we tend to cheer and root for the avenging underdog, especially when they finally achieve their long awaited revenge. However, rarely are the after effects explored once the revenge is completed. My hope is that after reading these novels, someone contemplating vengeful acts upon another will give pause and reflect on the unfathomably high price of revenge.

Out of all the great classical texts that deal with revenge, the one that became a part of me, and what inspired me to pen Accountable to None, was The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. The physical and emotional pain suffered by Edmund Dantes left me an emotional wreck. His calculated plans against all those that used him as a pawn in their life-altering game fascinated me. Edmund's transformation from the meek, mild-mannered gentleman into a revenge-fueled creature is truly a dark glimpse into the ravaged remains of a ruined mind.
